What can I say but awesome automotive advertising. I love a well placed location specific outdoor advertisement. Audi got owned on this one. Doh! BMW FTW.

I think both ads are from BMW. The Audi ad does not list its dealership location which is always standard in LA car ads.
You are totally wrong! There are different tiers of automotive advertising.
Tier 1 is top level branding pieces & overall campaign look & feel. They are not location specific because they are top tier, these are usually reserved for the more important spaces i.e. Times Square & Sunset (which is where I think this is most likely).
Tier 2 is regional associations of dealers (i.e. Southern California Audi)
Tier 3 is individual dealers (i.e. Joe Blow’s Ford hut)
Based on my assumption of the cost of this media placement, it would be too expensive and inefficient for an individual dealer to do. I promise you this was placed by both car companies. Who would spend double the money to subsequently still promote the competition even if its in insult?
